The cost of stump grinding can vary based on several factors, including the age and species of the tree, the number of stumps, and how close the stump is cut to the ground. Additional obstacles that may add time to the project can also impact pricing. Typically, stump grinding services are priced at approximately $4-$8 per inch of diameter, meaning a 24-inch stump would generally cost around $150.
Generally, most companies, including ours, have a minimum charge, which can be influenced by various conditions. For instance, if the job site is 45 minutes to an hour away, the cost will be adjusted to reflect travel and labor. In such cases, the minimum fee for grinding a single 24-inch stump might be around $300, with each additional 24-inch stump priced at $150. At the same time, jobs that are closer may qualify for a lower minimum rate. That being said, we schedule our jobs by region so that YOU ARE NOT paying for that travel time. Instead it's just factored into a days work. This is how we cover 70% of the state while still keeping rates reasonable.
